Why No More Etsy - Now SoberAFShop

I started Sober AF Shop genuinely excited. Every order felt unreal to me. I’d refresh the Etsy app constantly just to see if another order came through.

And honestly, for a minute, it really felt like things were working.

In my first two months, I got 35 orders and all 5-star reviews. People connected with the products, the humor, the healing side of it all, and that meant more to me than I can explain.

Then I had a month where I made around $535 in sales and thought, “Okay… maybe I can actually do this.”

But after Etsy fees, transaction fees, offsite ad fees, marketing costs, payment processing, and all the little charges that add up so fast, I was left with about $135.

That was my wake-up call.

Not because I expected things to be easy, but because I realized how hard small businesses have to fight just to grow on platforms where you’re constantly paying to even be seen.

And truthfully, I got overwhelmed for a while.

Trying to create products, answer messages, market everything, package orders, be a mom, handle life, and still somehow stay creative every day can mentally drain you fast.

But even through all of that, I still kept coming back to the same thing:

I love creating.

I love making things that help people laugh, feel seen, feel less alone, or just brighten their day a little.

So now I’m rebuilding this in a more honest way. More independently. More intentionally.

Sober gifts. Healing products. Funny recovery stuff. LA sports-inspired pieces. Digital sober trackers. Little reminders that healing doesn’t always have to look serious or perfect.

I’m still learning as I go, but I really hope you stick around and grow with me while I build this into something special.

Every order, share, follow, and kind message truly means more than you probably realize.
