THE SH*T I LEARNED SOBER Not every feeling needs fixing. Some just need time to pass
One of the hardest lessons sobriety taught me was that discomfort isn't always a problem to solve. Not every bad day means something is wrong. Not every craving, anxious thought, lonely moment, or wave of sadness needs an immediate reaction.
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is sit with the feeling, let it exist, and trust that it won't last forever.
I spent years trying to escape uncomfortable emotions. Sobriety taught me that feelings are temporary visitors, not permanent residents. They come. They stay for a while. And if we let them, they eventually leave.
Healing isn't about never feeling uncomfortable. It's about learning that you can survive discomfort without running from it.
Some feelings need action.
Some need support.
And some just need time to pass.
